Great day for golf

The St John's College Foundation Charity Golf Day was an early sell out this year with 25 teams signing up to participate in the 18-hole ambrose style tournament within the first few weeks of registrations opening, an amazing show of support for the School and Foundation.

That giving spirit continued with local businesses jumping on board to purchase hole sponsorships and generously donating prizes and raffle items. It was a great feeling to be involved with an event where people were actively reaching out to help us, which is indicative of the St John's College community and what sets our school apart.

Fortunately, we were blessed with blue skies and sunshine and an awesome day of golf was had by all who attended, with the team from Fulton Hogan taking out first place on the day! We are pleased to report that as a result of our generous participants and sponsors, $11,250 was raised as a result of the day.

This money will be added to the Foundation's endowment fund, which will provide a sustainable income stream for St John's College and the securement of a prosperous future for the School and its students.

We would like to thank Rick Cartmill and Paul Bennett who are both stepping down this year after running the golf day for a number of years. Rick and Paul have done an excellent job of running the event and we'd like to thank them for the time and effort they have put in. They won't be easy shoes to fill but fill them we must, so if you are a golfer, and would like to be involved in helping us run the golf day next year we'd love to hear from you.
